Why I Bought It
I was looking for something to reach for on days I'm tired but still need focus and brain energy — without the overstimulated, edgy feeling some energy products give me.
My Personal Experience
McNab's SuperCharge is my go-to sachet when I'm on the move. On long days when I still have plenty to do by nightfall, I take one sachet alongside my ginseng and ashwagandha. In my experience, this combination helps me feel clearer and more motivated, with fatigue taking a back seat. It has been a consistently dependable option for me. It can make it harder to wind down if I take it late, so I keep it to earlier in the day. Because I use it alongside other supplements, I can't attribute every effect to McNab's alone.
What the Science Says
Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero) is botanically unrelated to true Panax ginseng despite the shared name. The European Medicines Agency accepts its traditional use for tiredness based on long-standing use, but stops short of calling it clinically proven, and recommends against use beyond two months at a time. Trial results are mixed — one well-known randomized trial found no meaningful difference from placebo for unexplained fatigue. Ashwagandha is more researched, with multiple trials supporting stress reduction and, in some studies, reduced fatigue. Neither ingredient has been studied specifically in ADHD populations. No research was found connecting either ingredient to breathing or respiratory function — that effect appears to be a personal observation without a known mechanism.
What We Don't Know
There is no direct research on either ingredient in ADHD populations, and no known mechanism for the breathing effect I've personally noticed. It's also hard to separate which of the two ingredients is doing what in a combined product.
Safety & Cautions
Eleuthero may affect blood pressure and can interact with sedatives, blood thinners, and diabetes medication; it isn't recommended for long, uninterrupted use. Ashwagandha can affect thyroid hormone levels, has rare case reports of liver-related issues, and isn't recommended during pregnancy. Speak to a doctor first, especially if you're on other medication.
My Honest Verdict
Personally Useful to Me
One of my stronger combination supplements. Calm, focused energy with no crash, plus an unexpected breathing benefit I can't explain scientifically but have noticed consistently.
